WCU Student Recreation Center

MHAworks administered the construction phase of Western Carolina University’s $16.7 million Student Recreation Center. The 73,000 square foot facility houses student recreation, intramural and outdoor activities and includes such state-of-the-art amenities as a 50-foot climbing wall, indoor elevated running track, two multipurpose courts for basketball or volleyball, weight lifting area, cardiovascular equipment and two mirror-lined group exercise studios. Construction of the facility was completed on time and under budget. This project was a collaboration between CRZ Architects and MHAworks. Michael Hining of MHAworks personally managed the construction administration of this project with weekly visits to Cullowhee over an eighteen-month period.
