The Snow Building

MHAworks was hired to complete interior renovations in the basement of the historic Snow Building located at 331 West Main Street in Durham, North Carolina. A historic landmark, The Snow Building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and exudes the intricate art deco details that original architect, George Watts Carr and builder George Kane created together. Through careful selection of lighting fixtures, furniture, flooring, and millwork design and finishes; our designers transformed this once outdated basement into a modern workspace that prioritizes collaboration and the health and wellness of employees.

Renovations to this space added a market area that includes free snacks for employees, modern meeting spaces that encourage creative thinking, and a wellness room suitable for any activity that requires mindfulness. These new spaces will be shared building wide with each of the offices, restaurants, and retail spaces located in the seven-story building.
