Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has served as a place of worship for the community of Chapel Hill and students at The University of North Carolina for more than a century. MHAworks was hired by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to provide planning, programming, design, and construction administration for the 12,000 square-foot worship facility.

The goal of this project was to create a healthy, comfortable, cost efficient, and environmentally friendly building that would provide the best support for the church’s growing congregation. This project features several green building principles, including the reuse of a derelict building site, capture and slow-release rate of storm water, low-intensity exterior site lighting that does not escape the boundaries of the site, and numerous products with recycled content and locally produced materials.
