Duke University Teer Engineering Building

Durham, NC

The 16,000 square foot Teer Engineering Building is designed to include a tiered distance-learning lecture hall, flexible electrical engineering labs, “information commons” casual collaborative environments, “telepresence” conferencing center, and other various academic and office environments in the place of former book stacks.

This state-of-the-art building contains flexible spaces that are capable of changing and adapting as programs and initiatives evolve. They can be common areas where interaction and conversation is encouraged, thus fostering the fundamentally social nature of learning. They can also be arranged as student areas for both collaborative and individual learning and research, or they can become spaces that “overlap” with multiple uses.

MHAworks has completed multiple projects within this facility including a recent classroom renovation.
