Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Center Gravely Building

MHAworks is actively renovating all four floors of the Gravely Building Resident Wing of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ (NCDHHS) Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC). Built in 1932, the Gravely wing of BMNTC originally consisted of two residential units and office space. Once renovations are complete, the center will have new resident rooms, nurses’ stations, shower rooms, day and dining rooms, medication rooms, nourishment rooms, and a staff lounge.

The project will optimize BMNTC’s ability to provide high-quality care and specialized services for adults with neurocognitive and neurodevelopmental disorders. Through thoughtful layouts and a selection of calming colors and interior finishes, the newly renovated Gravely Building will provide residents with a comfortable and safe environment.
