Project Architect

Loren Brandford has been in architecture for more than 20 years, focusing primarily on urban multi-family projects, with an emphasis on high-quality building envelopes and the practicalities of construction. In his last role, as a Senior Project Architect, Loren was in charge of quality control, accessibility issues, specifications, standards, and construction assistance.

As a Building Performance Architect at SEM, he helped civilian and military clients build and operate their projects in ways that support energy efficiency and durability through air barrier design reviews and testing. Loren pursued a career in architecture as a way to promote green living and resource conservation.

Loren is an ICC Accessibility Inspector/Plan reviewer, PHI Certified Passive House Designer, and LEED AP certified. His other professional memberships include Seattle and Research Triangle AIA, the International Code Council, and the Research Triangle Building Enclosure Council.

In his off-time Loren likes spending time with his daughter and watching soccer, especially NC Courage. He also likes to hike, go to art museums, and solves around 75 percent of New York Times crossword puzzles the day they are published.
