Last week, MHAworks was honored to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Bertie County Library and North Carolina Cooperative Extension office in Windsor, NC. Bertie County Commissioners, public officials, members of the design and construction team, and community residents gathered to celebrate and tour the new facility.

The project, funded by a Golden LEAF Infrastructure Grant, combines two important organizations that service the Town of Windsor and surrounding communities. By combining the library with the NC Cooperative Extension program, the town will have a central location to hold events and community programs.

“To see this building is truly heartwarming. This is a special place,” said North Carolina State University Cooperative Extension Associate Dean Dr. Rich Bonanno.

Inside of this beautifully designed facility, you will find a library with support learning spaces for flexible teaching opportunities and active learning for community education programs. You will also find a multi-purpose event room with a prep kitchen, office space, a conference room, a work room, a break area, and a teaching kitchen.
